Not only will marijuana improve your disposition, but it may actually help treat your illness.  At the very least it can make your suffering more tolerable.

Cannabis: Suppressed Truth vs Outrageous Lies

We’ve all heard the negative publicity concerning cannabis(weed, marijuana) such as:

  • It’s highly addictive.
  • It’s a gateway drug etc
  • It will lead you to have a highly promiscuous lifestyle.

However, what’s not talked about is the medicinal aspect of weed. According to the National Cancer Institute website: “The use of cannabis for medicinal purposes dates back at least 3000 years. It came into use in Western medicine in the 19th century and was said to relieve pain,, spasms, and convulsions.”

So why do so few of us know about this?  Probably because it’s more beneficial for certain parties to demonize marijuana as a harmful drug.

Just Imagine if you could legally grow something that not only makes you feel good—but also has curative properties.

So for a minute forget all the anti-weed propaganda you’ve heard. Sit back, relax, and learn about 5 Surprising Health benefits of marijuana.

1. Chronic Inflammation

Chronic inflammation is what happens when inflammation, a process designed to heal the body, carries on longer than it’s supposed to.

When this happens other tissues become damaged which can lead to ailments such as:

  • Tuberculosis
  • Sinusitis
  • Crohn’s Disease

Science is now finding out that marijuana’s healing powers include the treatment of chronic inflammation.

• According to this study posted on the NCBI website: “Cannabinoids are potent anti-inflammatory agents and they exert their effects through inhibition of cell proliferation and induction of apoptosis, (cell death)”

• This study posted on the Science Daily website documents how an ingredient in cannabis can influence inflammation.

That substance is called beta-caryophyllene.  Beta-caryophyllene has been shown to have an influence on the CB2 receptor.

If The CB2 receptor, which is located in the nervous system, is activated it releases fewer inflammatory signals.

2. Arthritis

Staying on the topic of inflammatory diseases, we’ll now show how marijuana affects arthritis.  Arthritis is a painful condition that causes stiffness and pain usually in the joints.

The most frequent types of arthritis that people are diagnosed with are osteoarthritis and rheumatoid arthritis.

Because it can influence inflammation, marijuana can help to relieve this condition that leaves many incapacitated.

• In this study, researchers fed mice afflicted with arthritis cannabidiol. Cannabidiol is the non-psychotropic component of cannabis.

At the end of the test, it was concluded that oral doses of 5mg of cannabidiol caused a suppression of arthritis in the mice.

The test also concluded that cannabidiol has a healing effect on joints afflicted with arthritis.

Unfortunately, the medical benefits of marijuana don’t extend to curing the aids virus.  However, ingesting marijuana can relieve some of the side effects associated with AIDS medication.  This includes:

• Nausea
• AIDS wasting syndrome (extreme weight loss)
• Pain
• Depression
Research conducted by the National Academy of Sciences has proven that marijuana can alleviate all of these unpleasant side effects.

4. Cancer
One of the biggest healing aspects of marijuana is that it can help those suffering from cancer.   According to the National Cancer Institute website:

• Studies in mice have shown that cannabinoids may inhibit tumor growth by causing cellular death. This process will also block blood vessels needed by tumors to grow.

• Another study conducted on mice showed that cannabinoids may protect against inflammation of the colon; thereby reducing the risk of colon cancer.

• Animal studies have shown that cannabinoids may be able to kill cancer cells while protecting normal cells.

5. Depression

A major reason why people are against marijuana usage is because it’s believed that it causes depression.

However, this article posted on the University of Buffalo website says that marijuana might actually relieve depression.

“In the animal models we studied we saw that chronic stress reduced cannabinoids, leading to depression-like behavior.”

“Using compounds derived from cannabis-marijuana to restore normal endocannabinoid function could potentially help stabilize moods and ease depression.”

Though there are still more tests that need to be done; the future looks promising for cannabis as an antidepressant.

The Relaxing and Enjoyable Way to Fight Disease.

You just finished a joint.  The pain and stress that you felt  disappear; leaving you to experience peace and tranquility.

Because you’re now aware of 5 medicinal benefits of marijuana; you can enlighten others to the fact that weed can do more than just get you high.

Of course like most things, there are times when weed is not good for you.

For example, if you have cardiovascular disease, marijuana can exacerbate certain symptoms such as chest pain.

If you’re suffering from obesity, marijuana can increase feelings of hunger.  This will cause you to eat more which leads to unwanted weight.

If you are afraid of lung damage due to smoke, then you can use a vaporizer.

However, if you’re looking for a gentle and relaxing way to overcome your ailment and elevate your mood—then marijuana may be for you.

Just remember to consult your doctor first before usage.  Marijuana shouldn’t be combined with certain medications.

Also, make sure marijuana is legal in your state before using it.  As pleasurable and beneficial as it can be—you don’t want to go to jail over it.

If you want your state law to change, then organize with others who share your views.  Once that’s done, contact your state senator or congressman.

It’s a tough, uphill battle you’ll face, but oftentimes those are the ones that change history.

    1. I’m not sure how boiling marijuana affects the medicinal properties of marijuana, however you can smoke it to get these benefits or you can purchase the cannabinoids in pill form.
